PQS International grew out of PQS Group, the Spanish professional services firm that Javier Piqueras built after leaving PwC, serving Spanish and international clients across Spain.

Jacques Straathof met Javier in 2018, as a client: an international CFO looking for a stable, affordable accounting team. The first Dutch outsourcing contract started in 2021, and it worked so well that the client became a partner. In 2024 they founded PQS International together.

Today the group serves more than 50 clients, fifteen of which run their finance function through a dedicated PQS team. We chose Spain deliberately: strong universities, deep loyalty to employers, and a cost level that lets us pay well and still charge less than a Dutch in-house team costs.
